Celebrating Margate’s
Queer Artistic Spirit this August

Margate, Kent – August 1st–31st, 2025

This August, as part of Margate Pride, the town will burst into colour, creativity, and celebration with the launch of
PRIDE DIY ART MAP.

Running throughout August, PRIDE DIY ART MAP invites artists, makers, and creative residents to participate in an inclusive, self-led celebration of queer art and expression.

This open call seeks contributions in all forms—visual arts, installations, performances, and more. You are encouraged to present your work not only in traditional gallery spaces, but also in Margate’s shops, cafés, windows, restaurants, and bars. Start your conversations early with venues to secure space, and then fill in our form to be included in the listings.

We welcome both locals and visitors to experience Margate’s creative queer energy firsthand. Whether you’re an emerging artist or a seasoned creator, this is your chance to be part of a grassroots movement that highlights visibility, inclusion, and the power of community.

This project is more than an art event—it’s a call to action for visibility, resilience, and joy.
