Celebrating Margate’s
Queer Artistic Spirit this August

Margate, Kent – August 1st–31st, 2025

This August, Margate bursts into colour, creativity, and celebration for Margate Pride with the launch of the 5th PRIDE DIY ART MAP.

Running throughout August, PRIDE DIY ART MAP invites artists, makers, and creative residents to join an inclusive, self-led celebration of queer art and expression. The Margate Pride Art Map launches on Friday, August 1st, with exhibitions running anytime throughout the month.

This open call seeks contributions—visual arts, installations, performances, and more- in all forms. You are encouraged to present your work in traditional gallery spaces and in Margate’s shops, cafés, windows, restaurants, and bars. Start your conversations early with venues to secure space, and then fill in our form to be included in the listings.

We welcome both locals and visitors to experience Margate’s creative queer energy firsthand. Whether you’re an emerging artist or a seasoned creator, this is your chance to be part of a grassroots movement that highlights visibility, inclusion, and the power of community.

This project is more than an art event—it’s a call to action for visibility, resilience, and joy.

Margate Pride is inviting you to add information about your exhibition for inclusion in this year’s Pride Art Map. We welcome submissions from artists, curators, collectives, and
venues in and around Margate.

Please complete the form below. The deadline for submissions to be included in the printed listings is 30th June, online listings 14th July.

No applications will be accepted after this deadline.
Please ensure all information is correct before you upload—we do not have the resources to change information.

THANK YOU!
