CODE OF CONDUCT

Margate Pride CIC strictly adheres to the following code of conduct, and we expect all volunteers, employees, partners, licence holders, consultants, suppliers, clients, and customers, to follow these simple guidelines.

We ask this to make Margate Pride’s impact wide-reaching and long-lasting. We ask this to demonstrate your commitment to the LGBTQIA+ community, making Margate and beyond a safer and better place.

If you’re a Parade group or stallholder
The code of conduct applies equally to everyone in your parade group and/or on your stall.
You are collectively responsible for behaviour within your group.
Failure to comply with the code could result in you being asked to leave the parade and may affect future participation.
If you’re watching or attending Margate Pride

Abuse or threatening behaviour of any kind will not be tolerated at any Margate Pride event. If you have any concerns on the day, our trained stewards are positioned along the parade route and in other designated Margate Pride event spaces to offer support.

The Code of Conduct

Margate Pride expects everyone to be respectful of each other. Margate Pride will not tolerate any threatening, violent or offensive behaviour against its volunteers, staff, facilitators, creatives, parade participants, stallholders, security personnel or members of the public.

We welcome and support people of all backgrounds and identities. This includes, but is not limited to, members of any sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, race, ethnicity, culture, national origin, social and economic class, educational level, colour, immigration status, sex, age, size, family status, religion, and mental and physical ability.
We all depend on each other to produce the best work we can as a community organisation so ask everyone to be considerate. Your decisions will affect clients, customers, and colleagues, and you should take those consequences into account when making decisions.
Always conduct yourself professionally. Be kind to others. Do not insult or put down others. Harassment and exclusionary behaviour aren’t acceptable. This includes, but is not limited to:
Threats of violence.
Discriminatory jokes and language.
Sharing sexually explicit or violent material via electronic devices or other means.
Personal insults, especially those using racist or sexist terms.
Unwelcome sexual attention.
